Zhujiajiao Watertown Tour from Shanghai

Zhujiajiao Water Town, also named Zhujiajiao Water Village is Located in Qingpu District of Shanghai.It built approximately 1,700 years ago, lies in to the south of the Yangtze River and was built for a characteristic ancient water town. The ancient site is just 60 minutes by coach to the west of city center of Shanghai.

Drive to Qing Post Office, which is one of 13 major post offices in Shanghai, and is now the only historic post office site in East China. As a former post office, it is not a big place. But there are some interesting exhibits displayed across its two floors. It is also an interesting adjunct to the main Shanghai Post Office in the center of Shanghai.

And then progress to City God Temple, which is one of the most popular scenic area as well as shopping center for travelers. City God Temple, a famous Taosim temple in Shanghai area, is the must-see attraction when traveling in Shanghai.

After lunch, go along to see Kezhi Garden. Located in Xijin Street in the northern part of Zhujiajiao Water Town, Kezhi Garden features beautiful sightseeing and quiet and secluded surroundings.Kezhi Garden was built in 1912 and was owned by one of the richest salt merchants in Zhujiajiao. Its architecture is representative of rich families and combines both Chinese and Western styles. Translated, Ke means “schooling” and Zhi means “cultivation”and it consists mainly of three parts, including a hall area, an artificial hill area and a garden area.The garden itself is dotted with pavilions, ponds, and bridges which add to the beauty of the natural landscape. There is a pond where you can feed the fish. Fish food is available for purchase. There is a section dedicated to farming; a small museum of farming equipment and tools.

You are arranged to take the Canal Boat around the town. And you are free to do some shopping in the town by the end of the tour.
