Private Shanghai Old City One Day Tour

Our professional guide will wait for you at the hotel lobby in the morning. Drive to Jade Buddha Temple, located in the northwest corner of the city, this temple was built in 1882 and enshrines two jade Buddhas brought from Burma to Shanghai. The original temple was burnt down and was replaced by this new temple in 1918. It was built in the Song Dynasty style with curved eaves and figurines on the roof. There were many monks on the ground. It was closed for about 30 years and reopened in 1980. It has three main halls connected by a central courtyard. Whether you are a Buddhist or not, the Jade Buddha Temple is a good place to go. The peaceful and extraordinary atmosphere adds a richness to our busy modern society.

And then transfer to People's Square to visit Shanghai Museum, which is one of the best museums in Shanghai. The eleven galleries cover most of the major categories of Chinese art: Ancient Bronze, Ancient Ceramics, Paintings, Calligraphy, Ancient Sculpture, Ancient Jade, Coins, Ming and Qing Furniture, Seals, and Minority Nationalities.

After lunch, go along to see Longtangs in Jingan District. Longtangs in Shanghai are simply similar Hutongs of Beijing, the lanes ran along with houses wherever people get a lot of opportunities to communicate with one another. In the Longtangs, people meet collectively, are tight associated, therefore generating a solid common sense of localism, safety as well as family-likeness.

Continue to visit the Old French Concession,  which was built on April 6, 1849. In the 1920s, the French Concession evolved into Shanghai ’s main community. Despite rampant redevelopment in the past few decades, this place still maintains distinctive features.

After that, you will visit Xintiandi, which is located at No.181 Taicang Road, Shanghai, the former residence of Shikumen. At present, it is a fantastic combination between contemporary and modern architecture in the surrounding area and the old area. The charm of Xintiandi makes it the most ideal place for tourists at home and abroad, and can enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Shanghai's history, culture and modern lifestyle.

Last, we will transfer you back to the hotel to end this one day tour.
