Our professional guide will wait for you at the hotel lobby in the Shanghai. Drive 1.5 hour to Suzhou, well-known for its gardens and its silk, the town itself is built upon a network of interlocking canals whose waters supply the series of famous classic gardens that are Suzhou's pride and glory.
You will first visit Humble Administrator's Garden. There are multiple traditional Suzhou-style Chinese gardens in Suzhou, and 9 of these gardens have been inscribed in World Heritage list. The most famous and notable one is the Humble Administrator's Garden.The Humble Administrator's Garden was originally built in 1509 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It was initially a private garden of a former government servant named Wang Xianchen. It was said that Wang was frustrated in his official career, so he intended to build a garden after retire and just do some gardening work like planting trees and cultivating vegetables there. He thought that was a simple life led by a humble man like him, hence the name of the garden.
After that, you also have chance to visit Suzhou No.1 Silk Facotry, founded in 1926 as a state-owned factory, through this tour,you could acquire the knowledge of the entire life of a silkworm. Then you will have boat trip on beautiful Suzhou Grand Canal.
After lunch, go forward to see Zhouzhuang Watertown. Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water townships in China, is situated in Kunshan City which is only 18 miles (30 kilometers) southeast of Suzhou. This ancient town has a history of more than 900 years old with many houses built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is famed for its Twin Bridges (Shuang qiao), Fu'an Bridge, Shen House, Zhang House, Milou Tower and Chengxu Taoist Temple.
Last, we will transfer you back to the hotel to end this one day tour.
